About Us

Miles and Laura have lived in Dekalb County, Georgia for almost 20 years and always recycled their glass with curbside pick up when it was available. When Dekalb County eliminated curbside glass recycling because of the issues with glass contaminating other recyclable materials (when glass is recycled alongside other recyclable materials it is called "single stream recycling"), we continued to recycle by separating our glass and driving it to designated recycling centers. Our cars got messy (there was always some amount of liquid still in the bottles/jars!) and driving and separating the glass was time consuming, wasted gas, and was cumbersome. We talked for years about how much we missed curbside recycling and how there has to be a better way to recycle glass. Guiltless Glass Recycling was born from this vision.

We did the research and will do the dirty work for you.

We can save you time and mess, and you can feel good about all the household glass you utilize and help the environment along the way. Our focus is on collecting and recycling glass waste, which benefits our communities. Now we can all feel guiltless about glass!

Some facts we learned: When glass is included in single stream recycling it can break and those glass shards can contaminate other recyclable materials, which results in all of the materials not being able to be recycled and thrown in landfills. We learned about plastic and how it is often not as recyclable as we wish it could be even if it is not contaminated by glass. We learned about all the benefits to our health and the environment of using glass. We learned that recycling glass saves energy (versus using raw materials to produce glass), that recycling glass reduces air AND water pollution, and that recycling glass saves space in landfills. We can work together to make glass recycling a reality!
